Every time the Demo is opened, it clearly states that it is a Demo version. Reply by TablEdit on The main TablEdit page clearly states 'Download our FREE DEMO' on the link to the download. Files can be saved in TablEdit format or exported to ASCII, HTML, RTF, ABC, MusicXML, MIDI, Lilypond or WAV formats. TablEdit can open/import ASCII, MIDI, ABC, MusicXML, Bucket O' Tab, TabRite, GPX and MusicXML files.
Through ongoing consultation with experts on other instruments, TablEdit has developed support for harmonica, mountain dulcimer, diatonic accordion, drums, violin, tin whistle, recorder, xaphoon, native American flute, autoharp, pedal steel guitar, and banjo (even taking into consideration the special aspect of the fifth string). Additionally, TablEdit, while designed for guitarists, by guitarists, is not limited to guitar like other Tablature programs. From TablEdit is a program for creating, editing, printing and listening to tablature and sheet music (standard notation) for guitar and other fretted, stringed instruments, including mandolin and bass.

The trial limitations only allow one song (of 16 measures, in 4/4 time), which is sufficient for a little ditty but perhaps not generous enough to get into the groove with TablEdit. Although the program is able to import and open a number of files, we discovered a few errors in importing ASCII files. We were impressed with TablEdit's ability to add fingering 'hints' to the stave, a unique feature we've seldom found in other music editors. You can move these toolbars aside, thankfully. One pesky problem we encountered was that at launch, the program toolbars display right in the center of the stave, blocking it from view. TablEdit uses a standard set of music notation marks, and displays a stave in the center of the main program window for you to follow along. While this application's design doesn't exactly sing, it has all the necessary functions to help you read music and put your fingers in the right place. You want to rock, but your fingers keep getting in the way.
